

CARVER, Jack Kenneth, 96, of Midlothian, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017. He was a retired marketing executive. Jack attended temple at Congregation Beth Ahabah. He enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Private in 1942 and rose in rank to First Lieutenant. Jack served in the 328th Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry Division, Third Army, in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. His unit received the Presidential Citation, and he earned a Bronze Star for conspicuous gallantry in the face of the enemy. During the Korean Conflict, Jack was recalled and served from 1950 to 1952 with the rank of Captain. Jack was an active member of the WWII Roundtable of Central Virginia and Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge. He received his B.A. from Baruch College and his M.B.A. from New York University - Stern School. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Carver; first wife, Ann Carver; brother, Bernard Schnitzer; sisters, Rose Schwartz, Henrietta Oderoff, and Anna Goldfaden. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Barbara Carver, Howard Carver and Benjamin Carver (Allison); and grandchildren, Lindsay Owens (Jonathon), Blair Carver and Leigh Carver. A funeral service will take place at 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, 10300 Pridesville Rd., Amelia, Va. 23002. In lieu of flowers, a tribute gift in Jack's honor can be made to the National World War II Museum - New Orleans.
