Jackie was born in Crewe Virginia and moved to Mechanicsville Virginia in 1963 when she married her husband of 62 years, Richard E. Adams of Mechanicsville. She survived by her husband, Richard; her son, Chris Adams and wife Laura; her daughter, Cindy Adams and husband Duane Cassis; her sister, Linda Neal of Blackstone, as well as 6 grandchildren, their spouses, and 7 great grandchildren.
Jackie was a graduate of Lee Davis High School in 1964. She worked for years in administration in the dental industry and then retired in 2008 after many years working in the education department at Henrico County Jail East.
She loved music and loved to sing. Her grandchildren meant so much to her and she was a wonderful grandmother. She cherished her church family and was a devout Christian. She was a long-time member of Oak Hall Baptist Church and was a strong presence there until illness limited her abilities.
Jackie was known for her sweet nature and willingness to help those in need. She was truly loved by all and will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where a funeral service will be held Thursday, October 30, at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park
