In addition to his loving wife of 20+ years, Jody Barbee, James was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Walter Barbee and Shelby Jean (Adams) Barbee; brother, Allen Barbee; and nephew, Harry Lee Barbee Jr.
James had a love for cars. He especially loved older Challengers. James viewed himself as a master mechanic and loved to spend his time rebuilding cars, modifying the engines, and even did some racing. He was also quite an artist throughout his life. James was both a talented sketch artist and painter. He really enjoyed working with his hands and tinkering on projects.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Tina Marie Wagner, Harry Lee Barbee Sr., Shelly Waters Taylor; as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
