He was a former employee of Richmond Steel and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fitzhugh Anderson; mother, Marietta Lewis; and daughters, Jean Lewis and Nancy Lewis.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva Lewis; daughters, Clementine Johnson and Carolyn Johnson; brother-in-law, Cecil Noble; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, June 12, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, 3101 Nine Mile Road, Richmond, VA 23223.
