The daughter of the late John and Pauline Glass, Joan is survived by her husband of 49 years, John R. Landrum; their son, David L. Landrum (Grace); and extended family.
Joan was a graduate of Manchester High School, class of 1969, and upon graduation, began her working career with the State of Virginia, Department of Emergency Management. She retired with 50 years of service. With her strong soprano, Joan sang in the church choir at Webber Memorial Baptist Church. Joan was a former Deacon, a member of the Women’s Connection, and she and David enjoyed participating in a mission trip to Kentucky with their FMCBC family. Joan and Johnny were fortunate to visit Hawaii twice. For more than 20 years, she made many beach memories to her favorite vacation destination at Emerald Isle, N.C., where she loved to lay on the beach, only coming in to watch her afternoon soap opera.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 11 a.m., Four Mile Creek Baptist Church, with Rev. Tom Gaskins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Four Mile Creek Baptist Church, 2950 New Market Rd., Henrico, Va. 23231.
