Joel Benfield, 34, of Sandston, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elbert and Bertha Benfield. Joel was a refrigeration technician for Richmond Refrigeration and coached for his daughter’s youth softball team. He is survived by his wife, Joni Benfield; daughters, Rebecca Benfield and Hannah Benfield; mother, Dinah Benfield; father, C.B. Grant; brothers, Jeremy Benfield and David Benfield, Sr.; sister, Wendy Benfield; niece, Madison; and nephews, Jay and Brandon. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S.
