John Troy Bragg Jr.

He retired as Major with the West Virginia Army National Guard and retired as an environmental manager with Charles City County. He was a dedicated volunteer of the Promise Land Storehouse, a member of the New Kent County Wetlands Board and an avid photographer. He was a member of Kentwood Heights Baptist Church, Quinton.

John was preceded in death by his father, John T. Bragg, Sr. and is survived by his wife, Patricia Bragg; mother, Arbutus Bragg; sisters, Willa Shumate (Greg) and Julia Bragg Thomas (Alan); nieces and nephews, Megan Beaumont, Jared Shumate, Benjamin Shumate and Stacy Simon.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where a service will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 21, at 1 p.m. at Restlawn Memory Gardens, 265 Memorial Gardens Road, Victor, WV 25938.
