John Joseph McCauley Sr.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Lou; father, Robert McCauley and mother, Jessie Bragg; and sister, Jane Martin.

He worked as a Elevator Mechanic for Local #51, IUEC, retiring after more than 40 years of service. Johnny was a proud member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and was an avid Nascar fan. He loved his dogs and spending time with his family and friends at Buckroe Beach and also at Grey’s Point Campground playing horseshoes and riding on his “Big Darrell” golfcart.

He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Miller (Steve); sons, John J. McCauley, Jr. (Amanda) and Scott McCauley; granddaughters, Megan Pollock (David), Lyndsey McCauley and Shelby McCauley; grandson, Chris Pauli (Lindsey); 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne McCauley Browning, Bobby Browning and Eddie Martin; best friends, Bobbie and Bubbie Flippen; and a large circle of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1pm until service time at 3 pm on Friday, March 20, 2026 at Nelsen Funeral Home. A reception will follow at Sandston Moose Lodge.
