John is survived by his daughter, Jillian Wood and her husband, Brian Panton; as well as his son, Jonathan Wood and his wife, Oneida, and daugher, Tenley, of Quinton, Virginia.
John was born on June 29, 1946 in England to parents, Margaret and Kenneth Wood who met during World War II. He graduated from Highland Springs High School where he was a star athlete. He enjoyed a long career at Reynolds Metals before starting his own successful company, JPS Pool & Spa. John loved his children and his pets deeply and was happiest on the water with a fishing pole in his hand. His family and friends fondly remember him as a nature-loving risk taker with unwavering character who was fearless and forthright.
