Born February 9, 1975, in Richmond, Virginia to James and Diana Throckmorton, Joe was a lifelong learner and avid researcher. He was passionate about cooking, enjoyed listening and playing music and loved caring for animals.
Survivors include his father, James Bruce Throckmorton; mother, Diana Lynn Throckmorton; his longtime companion, April Mason; and her son, Troy Mason; his brother, John Jacob Throckmorton; his sister, Jamie Lynn Valencia; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by April’s son, Chase Mason.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where a service will be held Friday, May 6, at 2 p.m. Interment
will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
Relatives and friends are welcome at the service and burial, with a reception at the home of Joe and April immediately following.
