Joshua Adam Grey “Josh” resident of New Kent, VA, left to be with his Lord and Savior on September 17, 2018 at the “way too young” age of 23. From his birth in Atlanta (Stockbridge) GA on July 25, 1995 until his tragic death on Monday, Josh was a vibrant, fearless and most of all “always bigger than life” young man. Josh had a way of making everyone around him, even complete strangers, laugh with his infectious personality and amazing smile (he was so very proud of his pearly white teeth). Josh cherished spending time with his brothers and loved wrestling and playing Xbox with them every chance he got. He truly loved all his pets he had through the years – Jasper, Sky, Crystal, Squirt and Buddy. Josh was the true definition of a “mama’s boy”, always wanting to spend time with Mom – he truly loved her like no other. Modeling and being in front of a camera was Josh’s true passion and he did that so well. Josh loved the water, any kind of water, whether it was hanging out at the James on the rocks or taking the day and driving down to VA Beach, he loved looking out at the waves, getting his feet wet and showing off his tattoos and dark tan. Music was also a passion of Josh’s – evident by the first tattoo he got when he turned 18 - “Music is an Outburst of the Soul”. He loved attending concerts and rave events any chance he got. Josh did things his way, like a cowboy and was afraid of nothing. He had a heart of gold and truly was a great young man. Joshua Adam Grey touched and impacted the lives of many and no words written above could ever express how deeply he will be loved and missed moving forward. Josh is survived by his parents, Mike and Diane, his two younger brothers Alex and Ryan, his grandma Donna, granny Brenda and papa Sweeney, aunts, uncles any many cousins, all who loved him like family. A gathering to celebrate Josh’s life is extended to family, friends and anyone else who may have been touched by Josh throughout his life.
Viewing to be held Saturday 9/22 at Nelson’s Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue from 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Final services to reminisce, grieve and celebrate Josh’s life will be held Sunday 9/23 at Kentwood Heights Baptist Church, 2607 New Kent Hwy, Quinton starting at 2:00PM. To all that have reached out via phone calls, text messages or social media, the family says “Thank You” for your continued support during this life changing time.
