She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Arthenia Mayer; and brothers, Jerry Shifflett, Dennis Shifflett, and Douglas Shifflett.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Charles R. Sajonc; children, Linda Diane Benton (Brandon), Randy Russell Oakley Jr., Charles Keith Sajonc; and siblings, Arthur Shifflett (Barbara), Kenneth "David" Skinner (Donna), and Roberta Pope (Curtis).
Judy was a retired CNA and EMT, and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed hobbies such as gardening, bowling, painting, and sewing clothing. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to James River Hospice for their loving care.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Dr., Sandston, VA 23150. A reception will follow at the Nelsen Reception Center, 4660 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231.
