Kathy Bradner Lawhorne

Kathy Susan Bradner Lawhorne, 61, of Varina, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2016. She will forever be remembered as a loving wife of 43 years, mother, grandmother and friend. She retired from the State of Virginia's ABC Board, after 41 years of service. Kathy was a member of Montrose Presbyterian Church. She loved knitting, reading, spending time with family, long walks with her husband and trips to Atlantic City. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Samuel Bradner. Kathy is survived by her husband, Carl T. Lawhorne Jr.; children, Christopher Lawhorne and wife, Kelley and Samuel Lawhorne and wife, Jaden; grandchildren, Nicholas and Austin; sister, Diane B. Page; mother-in-law, Shirley Lawhorne; sister-in-law Donna Ford; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 14, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a service will be held in the chapel the following day at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park.
