LaVerne Duling Leake

June 6, 1931 - January 18, 2023

LaVerne Duling Leake, 91 of Glen Allen, went to be with the Lord on January 18, 2023, where she joined her beloved husband, Morris; her parents, Annie and Clarence Duling; siblings Mildred Pendergraph, Esther Wood, Charlotte Fleet, and Clarence Duling Jr. She is survived by three sons: David, Dale (Sheila), and Douglas; two grandchildren: Carter and Cooper, and sister Belle Philyaw.

She loved being around people, listening to music and going to Myrtle Beach. She enjoyed cooking, doing laundry, watching sports on TV, and would spend hours at her desk writing notes and cards to friends and family. She loved the Lord and her Dorcas Class at Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church. After retiring from the SCC, she and Morris enjoyed many trips and cruises with family and their lifelong friends.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, January 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond. Services will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Interment to follow at Washington Memorial Park.
