He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian B. Major.
Lawrence served in the U.S. Army and Air National Guard from 1963 to 1969. He worked as a heavy duty mechanic and enjoyed fishing and working on cars in his spare time.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Steven Major.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
