Lela Kayrene “Kay” Evans, 89, of Henrico passed away on September 22, 2015. Kay was preceded in death by her loving husband, Gilbert W. Evans. She is survived by sons, Donald Evans and Tommy Evans; daughter, Audrey Evans Pittard; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dora Page and Pat Sledd as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife and mother. Kay was active member of the Sandston Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, Sept. 24, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org.
