He was born on March 11, 1945, to Jack A. and Dolly M. (Dalton) Salmon. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, James Salmon, Jerry Salmon; and a nephew, Marshall Salmon. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Salmon; nieces, Laura Glantz, Karin Salmon; and nephew, Andrew Salmon. Also surviving are his sister-in-law, Susan Salmon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Charlene Lang; and their daughters, DeAnna Visser and Donna Carlson.
Jack was owner and operator of Dependable Tree Service for over 50 years, a job he thoroughly enjoyed, as long as he could depend upon his wife to settle problems that arose with employees and customers.
As much as he enjoyed his natural work, Jack’s true love was his service to his God. He was faithful in attending all Bible studies, Sunday meetings, conventions, and other services. He also immensely enjoyed talking to anyone who would listen about his faith.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Refreshments and fellowship will follow the funeral service in the Nelsen Reception Center. Jack will be laid to rest at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, in Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Dr., Sandston, VA 23150.
