Lionel Wesley Viar, 55, died Tuesday, June 24, 2015 in his home in Richmond, VA. Born and raised in Richmond, he was the son of Anelle Viar. Lionel was a devoted father, loving son and brother and a friend to all. He loved helping others especially the elderly. He was a 25 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. In his free time he was a passionate deep sea fisherman. Including his mother, Lionel is survived by his son Christopher Jackson. He also leaves his brother Jerry, three sisters: Becky, Charlotte, and Wanda; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Calvin. A memorial will be held from 4-7pm followed directly thereafter by a service on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Nelsens Funeral Home in Richmond. The family requests gifts or donations to the American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
