

SULLIVAN, Lois Harris, 88 years old, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2015. She was born in Richmond, Va. on May 8, 1926. She was the wife of John Louis Sullivan, whom she was to married for 66 years. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Emma Harris; and one sister, Frances Lee Harris. She is survived by her husband, John L. Sullivan; three sons, David (Marilyn), Douglas (Marcia) and Daniel (Vicky); six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Lois was retired from Henrico County School Board with 20 years of service. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1944, where she sang in the a capella choir. Music was her favorite thing. She was a former member of the Sweet Adelines singing group. She also enjoyed needlepoint, reading, singing in different places and watching the birds. Lois was a member of the Auxiliary for the VFW-9808, American Legion Post 144 and the Destroyer Escort Sailor's Association. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Highland Springs, Va. for 60 years. Her husband and three sons always came first in her life no matter what. John was her only true love. Family and friends may visit on Monday, February 16, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m at Nelsen Funeral Home, Laburnum Avenue, where services will be held on Tuesday, February 17, at 2 p.m. Interment at Washington Memorial Park.
