Loyd "Scoot" Earl Holmes

HOLMES, Loyd "Scoot" Earl, 56, of Doswell, passed away on July 16, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Houston; and brother, "Buck." He will be missed by his wife of 25 years, Debbie; mother, Lena; and children, Michael, Bubba, John and Kim. Scoot had several grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He is survived by his siblings, Virgil (Tina), Bonnie and Debra. Most of all, he will be missed by his dog, Chief. For 20 years, Scoot was a truck driver for Best Specialized, but spending time fishing was his "special time." Scoot's family invites you to join them for a visitation at Nelsen Funeral Home at 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, with a service at the Nelsen Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 10 a.m.
