Marian “Mari” Louise Bass, 24, of Mechanicsville, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 after a long hard struggle from open heart surgery. She is survived by her mother, Michele A. Bass; brother, Shawn L. Bass; sister, Mindy M. Bass; and grandmother, Mamie M. Andrews; lots of very close aunts, uncles and cousins; and her dog, Bella. She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence V. Bass; grandfather, James B. Andrews, Sr. and grandparents, Wade and Rosalie Bass. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 and also on Thursday, July 27, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in Washington Memorial Park.
