Peace came to Marie (90) on January 4, 2015. The last year of her life was spent reflecting on her years growing up and living in Glen Echo Park. There her family ran Oakley’s Grocery. After her retirement from Suntrust, Marie enjoyed the many activities she was involved in at her church, Bishop Memorial. Marie had many friends, including her best friend of 75 years, Virginia Mertens. In lieu of flowers, please give lovingly to Bishop Memorial Church, 3826 Nine Mile Road, Richmond, VA. A graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery on January 7, 2015 at 11am. Death—the last Sleep? No, it is the final awakening.
