She was preceded in death by her husband “Spike” and her parents Charles and Rosalind French.
Marilyn was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a friend. Her family was the center of her world, and she loved them deeply. She will be remembered for the love she gave, the memories she created, and the special place she held in the hearts of those who knew her.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Kathy Jewell (Chris); grandchildren, Trevor Talley (Rachel), CJ Jewell (Genevieve); great-granddaughter Olivia; stepdaughter, Wendy (Andrew); sister, Doris (John); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Marilyn leaves behind a lifetime of love and memories that will be treasured by her family and friends. Her love will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and all of those whose lives she touched. She will be deeply loved, forever remembered, and greatly missed.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23231 where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Hollywood Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
