Mark graduated from Highland Springs High School where he excelled in sports. He worked a variety of jobs including for his father at Packaging Gravure, and later as a medical courier.
Mark loved to learn and had a lifelong interest in history, music and sports. He was known as a passionate fan of the Las Vegas Raiders, and a huge supporter of the band Counting Crows.
He is survived by his son, Justin; his brother Virgil Jr.; and his mother, Betty.
A Memorial gathering will be held Friday, July 17, 2026 from 11am - 3pm, with a service starting at 1pm, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Virginia 23231”
