HOOD, Mary Ann, 85, of Sandston, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, March 2, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hood Sr. Ann is survived by her four children, Linda, Cecilia, Herman Jr., and Loretta; sister, Virginia; her beloved grandchildren, Renee, Christina, Brian, Chris, Austen, Allysen and Mary Ashley; and great grandchild, Aryia. She will be remembered for her unwavering strength and care for others. A visitation will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday. A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The family would like to give a special thank you to Wilbur and Sandy.
