Mary Louise Reynolds, 81, of Varina, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018. Mary was born to John and Mable Ward of Leaksville, NC on December 16, 1936. Mary made a permanent home in Varina, where she worked and spent most of her time. She was a member of Varina Baptist Church and retired from a very hard but rewarding career with Nabisco. When not working, she enjoyed a second residence embracing river life at Bush Park, Deltaville. Mary embodied her commitment to family and dedicated her life to the betterment of those she loved. She had a talent for baking as well as a keen eye for gardening. Her unwavering dedication and love for family will forever remain her greatest legacy. She is preceded in death by both parents and siblings; Jack, Max and Henry Ward. Mary is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joe Reynolds, Sr.; seven children, Terry Schenck, Pam Gibson, Vicki Bruns, Joe Reynolds, Jr., Tim Reynolds, Gary Reynolds and Darrell Reynolds; 16 loving grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; brother, Gene Ward of Reidsville, NC; and sister, Betty Compton of Ridgeway, VA. The family will receive friends Thursday, Nov. 29, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where services will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
