He worked as a utility foreman and enjoyed fishing and target shooting. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Katherine M. Hammond; children, Matthew C. Hammond, Jr., Robert L. Hammond and Christopher D. Hammond; mother, Jacqueline Hammond; and siblings, Michael R. Hammond and Jennifer S. Able.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231 from 4-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 2 p.m. in Greenwood Memorial Park, 12609 Patterson Ave, Richmond, Virginia 23238. Social distancing and masks will be required.
