Michelle retired from the Richmond Times-Dispatch and was a member of the Duckpin Bowling pro ladies tour, bowling being a passion shared by her and her husband, Bob.
Besides many great friends, Michelle leaves behind her brothers, Hugh, Wendell, and Grover Johnson; sister, Carmen Shortt; children, Janet Pearman, Jim Rice and his wife, Gilley; a stepdaughter, Barbara May; nine grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a memorial service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 1 p.m. Burial will be private.
