She was preceded in death by her husband, Earle S. Sheffield Jr., of 72 years; and her daughter, Jeanne Mills. Mrs. Sheffield is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Walton; and a son, Kenneth Sheffield (Linda); eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mildred was a lifelong member of New Bridge Baptist Church and The Highland Springs Women’s Club. She enjoyed crafting, cooking and most importantly, being a wonderful momma and nana. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231. A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 10, at 1 p.m. at Washington Memorial Park.
