Mollie Hampton LeSane, age 89, peacefully entered her eternal rest on Saturday, May 3, 2025. She was born on February 20, 1936, in Rimini, South Carolina, to the late Cain and Renner Hampton.
Mollie accepted Christ at an early age and lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. She was a longtime member of Hood Temple AME Zion Church, where she faithfully served for over 45 years as a deaconess, choir member, and dedicated member of the usher board. Later in life, she continued her spiritual journey with Saint Paul Baptist Church.
Mollie was united in holy matrimony to the late Tommie Lee LeSane , and from this union, they were blessed with six beloved children: Tommie LeSane, Jr. Lydell LeSane (Andrea), Kenneth Lee LeSane, Melvin Warren LeSane (Tanya), Teresa Ann LeSane Frye, and Karen LeSane Smith (Tyree). She was also a loving presence in the lives of her grandchildren, Jasmine, Tiffany, Nicole, Tamara, Michael, and Tiarra.
She was preceded in death by her older brother, Leroy Hampton, and sister Alice Sinkler, and leaves to cherish her memory two younger sisters Delores Oates and Betty Harper, along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and neighbors who were touched by her warmth and kindness.
Mollie had a passion for gardening and was known for having the most beautiful flower patio in the neighborhood. Her vibrant spirit blossomed in every petal she planted. Equally at home in the kitchen, she loved preparing family meals, always bringing everyone together with her signature dishes and generous hospitality.
Our mother’s life was a garden of grace, compassion, and unwavering faith. Just as she nurtured each flower with care and patience, she cultivated love and strength in her family and all who knew her. Though she has departed from this earthly garden, her memory will continue to bloom in our hearts, ever vibrant, ever fragrant, and forever rooted in love.
