She was a member of Varina Baptist Church. She was a long time employee of Thalhimers Department Store and later worked for Henrico County, AP.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Gwaltney, Sr.; three sons, Jerry Gwaltney, Jr. (Jenny), Brian Gwaltney (Lisa) and Michael Gwaltney; seven grandchildren; and brother, David Beadles (Sherry).
The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 20, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 21, at 11 a.m.
Interment will follow at Four Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
