SMITH, Neil "Wayne", Sr., age 73, of Charles City, was called home Wednesday, December 20, 2017. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Smith; daughter, Shannon Smith; brother, John "Johnny" Smith; and sister, Sharon Smith Goodman. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Neil Wayne "Turkey" Smith, Jr.; grandchildren, Kenneth Wayne Hudson, Jr. and Savannah Dawn Hudson; four great-grandchildren; brother, Allan "Bruce" Smith; sisters, Deborah Smith Jeffers and Rebecca J. Smith; companion, Barbara "Bobbie" Taylor; and an abundance of friends and relatives. Wayne's most enjoyable moments were times spent with family and friends, which included anyone he ever met. A visitation will be held Friday from 4 pm to 8 pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 am at the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Washington Memorial Park.
