Nellie Kathy Harris

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Otis A. Harris; her sons, Tommy McGill and Tony McGill; her grandsons, Tony McGill Jr. and Christopher Bolling; her mother, Viola Parrish Lee; her father, Lemon Lee; and her five siblings.

She is survived by her sons, David McGill and Troy Harris; and her daughter, Wendy McGill; as well as her close nieces, nephews, and extended family in Virginia and North Carolina. She is also survived by five grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Her favorite pastimes included cooking, cleaning, sewing, fishing, listening to the music of the Little Creek Band, dancing, sitting on the porch, and spending time with loving friends and family. She will be remembered as a thoughtful, self-less, and fiercely independent woman and her legacy will carry on by those that were closest to her.

A celebration of Kathy's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
