

She was one of six children by Howard and Lula Cook. She graduated from Highland Springs High School, Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia.
She married the love of her life, Kimball Boyd Callahan On December 28, 1946. They were married for 63 years before his passing in 2007. She was a devoted Mother to two daughters, Sharon Callahan Connor and Marie Callahan Townsend (who passed in 2016). Nettie was a high school social studies teacher with Chesterfield County and Richmond City Public Schools for 26 years.
She was a member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church where she devoted many hours to teaching Sunday school and preparing Wednesday night suppers.
Nettie's interest included cooking, gardening, antiques and world travel. Her favorite of many trips took her around the world in 1971 and included attending the Baptist World Alliance in Tokyo.
Nettie is survived by her daughter Sharon and son-in-law Tom and loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
