Dearest Paul, it’s been 5 years since you traveled with the angels. Not a day goes by that you travel into my heart and life time of memories.

I love you, Daddy and I hope I’ve made you proud.

It’s been 2 years since we held hands as you passed to the world of heavenly peace and the hands of our Lord. I will always you and our memories in my heart, dear big brother. ❤️

Paul was a wonderful man. What stands out most for me is the unconditional love he had for everyone but his greatest love was for his family.  Always had a smile on his face. 
My condolence to his wonerful wife Rosemary and family in this very sad time of life. Someone once told me, that helped me alot was "just remember, the last breath on earth is his first breath in heaven." Love you all.

It is hard to express feelings about the lose of a family member. There are so many stories that could be told from double dates at California State, to weddings and graduations in Virginia and family gatherings in Florida and Pennsylvania.  One story that comes to mind was at Cindi's graduation party when Paul decided to explore the woods behind the barn, after an uncomfortable amount of time and with everyone's prayers (including I am sure Paul's) a good neighbor brought him back. Paul was a dedicated family man putting them first in every way, doing things in his own way and at his own pace.  But most important, he loved my sister completely, he was undeniably devoted to her.  You rarely every saw them apart.  I am sure that he is waiting to continue that unconditional love when the times comes for them to be together again.   Something felt but rarely said, we loved you and will miss you deeply. 

Grandpap was a very loving and caring man. He really did show how far love could go and how valuable it is in your life, because of him I've learned that love could overpower anything in life. When things didn't go as planned, it didn't really seem to matter that much to anybody because we were all together... I always loved Grandpap's stories, even though I never really showed it, they always showed me what kind of guy he was. He was a really funny guy. Grandpap may have not been the richest man alive but he always knew how to make the best of every little thing. He was very rich in his heart. I'm really going to miss all the fun things we all did together and the place's we went. I'm going to miss going to the beach and playing that huge scrabble board game. Disney was my favorite vacation we all went to, i still hear everyone singing "It's a small world". It really is a small world... I love you Grandpap.

I've had a tremendous admiration (and a tad bit of jealousy) for Paul from the day we met.  As we engaged in conversation, I immediately saw that he was a rare commodity in this world: a respectfully, considerate man, passionate about his family, faith and personal beliefs.  Over time, I also saw, and greatly admired, how much he adored Rosemary (always together and always holding hands), family and friends.  That adoration was reciprocated by all that knew him.  Paul is the epitome of both husband and dad and somehow balanced all of that with a keen sense of humor and a boyish love for sweets.  

I recall my introduction to Paul and Rosemary over dinner at Roma's (the Mary's regular spot).  During dinner, I subtly passed my Visa to the waitress to pay the bill.  As soon as we finished our entrees, the bill was brought to the table and I signed off.  Paul, sitting directly across from me, looked up at me clearly agitated.  I thought I may have insulted him by covering the tab.  No, that wasn't it.  He was upset because he wasn't given the opportunity to order dessert - chocolate peanut butter pie (one of his favorites)!  Needless to say, he got his pie and I got the bill.  :)  

Paul will always be remembered as the exemplification of a loving husband, dad and grandpa and wonderful friend.

It has been an honor knowing you.  You will be terribly missed  by all until we meet again!

Words cannot express the sorrow and pain of losing our loving father, Paul Mary.  I still find it hard to believe he is gone, and will always cherish the experience we had as a family surrounding him with love and prayer at home while he peacefully passed away. 

As the second oldest of six children, the best way I can describe our childhood is to think our household as The Brady Bunch (which we loved and still recall each and every episode) - all the valuable life lessons we learned as children, the core family values instilled in us, and of course all of the organized chaos and strict discipline associated with raising six teenagers. Sorry, mom! :)

Dad was passionate about U.S. and world history, politics and current events, and remember when he was done reading the daily Richmond Times-Dispatch at the kitchen table, I would pick it up to read and feed my own curiosity of what was happening in the world.  I love to learn, never stop learning, and enjoyed learning something new everyday with Dad. There was always something new to discover and talk about.

Mom and Dad have always been the epitome of a loving, dedicated, faithful married couple. I used to always say to them, “I want your marriage.” They were inseparable and held hands each and every day. Dad loved and adored our mother, his sweet Rosemary, as do we. As Dad passed away at home, mom whispered in his ear “we always go everywhere together, “ and that it was okay to let go and be with God and those who have gone before us. We’ll see you there. 

Until we meet again, Dad, Rest In Peace. Know you have touched the lives of many, and filled our hearts with much love. 

Your legacy will keep us strong and live on.

My favorite Brother-in-Law Paul will always have a special place in my heart and in the hearts of all those who knew him. 

The following saying sums up my feelings about Paul:
               The nicest place 2 be is in someone's THOUGHTS!
               The safest place 2 be is in someone's PRAYERS!

Paul achieved all three places. I'm confident Paul has already arrived in his BEST place.

Paul was a model example of a family man. He was not seen without some member of his family, aside from work.  He worked hard, played hard and rested, enjoying each.  He loved his family deeply. I met Paul and Rose when John, my husband, was hired by Paul and suddenly we were invited to the Mary Home and became one of the family seamlessly.  Our lives weaved together by work, children, St. John’s, Lenten Dinners, bingo, St. Patrick’s Soup Kitchen, weddings, births, deaths, baptisms, food,  Steelers, confirmations, stuffing envelopes, food, more food and kindness. “Father Paul and Saint Rose” and family.  You guys have always been more than family.  An example of perseverance and fierce family love always keeping God in your heart. Paul you will be sorely missed.      Be the light. ❤️

I knew Paul and Rosemary from our days in high school. We were friends throughout those years and we continue today. One of my memories of Paul goes back to when their first child was born. They had a small apartment not far from where I lived. One day I went over to their apartment to help Paul put a crib together. Rosemary was in the hospital awaiting the birth of their baby. Being men we didn't need to read any instructions so we were struggling with the crib assembly when suddenly the phone started ringing. I said," Paul, you had better answer that". He said, "Let it ring. They can call back. We have to get this darn thing together." Well I did convince him that it may be important and when he did answer it he said, "It was the hospital.  Rose is in labor." Needless to say we left, the crib still not assembled and made it to the hospital in time for Paul to be there for the birth of their baby. I have many good memories of Paul and Rosemary. He will be missed by his many friends and family. I am glad that I was a small part of his life. The accompanying photo is from our 50th high school reunion in 2014. 

I met Paul and Rose in 1986 when I went on a job interview, I was told to ask for Rosemary Mary I could not believe my eyes when I walked into the room and there was Pittsburgh Steelers stuff all over her walls. Rose and I talked for the longest time. About a week later I received a call from Paul about a job.  We ended up working together in several places.  It was also a time in Laurrie’s and my life where we needed good friends and Paul and Rose not only became that but also like family. We had just moved to Richmond and will never be able to repay them for their kindness and generosity. Love always.

Paul is one of the kindest most generous people I know.  His life is proudly reflected in every member of his family in the way they love each other.  I am honored to have known him,  call him DAD, call him pop, yep and even called him sexy!! He was, is, and always will be a role model for many people including myself.  I love you pop, I will sincerely miss you , and I will smile when I look back on the memories! Please tell my mom and dad that I miss them both and love them.  Until we meet again, I love you ❤️. I remember one day when I was doing some work at the old house on Recreation Road Mom and Dad asked me if I wanted to stay for dinner. We had dinner and after  Dad wanted chocolate cake that Mom had made, So we had a little bet that if his sugar  was lower than mine he could have a piece and I couldn’t. So he tested his and then I tested mine. Well mine was so low I had both.
Dad I will surely miss you. You welcomed me into your family and into your heart ( even though I was from Cleveland) from the very first day. I love you and until we meet again.       I salute you🇺🇸

My sincere condolences go to the Mary family as I know his sweet soul will be missed. As a child, I always knew Paul by “Mr Mary.”  My favorite memory of him was when Lee and I were about 8 or 9. A few of us set their garage up to be a roller rink. We had music, food and of course a blast. Well of course, Mr Mary wasn’t too happy to have come home to find that we ate a majority of the junk food, but he never made us feel bad. He always had a kind soul.  May he Rest In Peace with the lord. God bless the family. You will be in my prayers. 

He was always Mr. Mary to me first because i respect my elders and I was scared of him( I was dating his youngest daughter) but later because I respected him. I respected the way that he led his family. I respected how he always got along with everybody and I respected how he never lost his cool even when he had good reasons too, he always seemed to have everything under control. 
       Any body that knew Mr. Mary or the Mary family knows they are always eating dinner, or getting ready to eat , or going out to eat or making plans to meet at their favorite restaurant. There was always that time as everybody was finishing eating that Mr. Mary would lead into a story and everybody listened, he just had it like that.  He likes to laugh and was usually cutting up. He always had good commentary on politics and current events. He had a good perspective on everything. 
     He loved his wife, and He loved his family and always had time for them. I challenge you to find a picture of him alone.  He liked people and people like him. I rarely heard him speak  ill of others but if the truth need to be said then so be it.  He did not have any  enemies.   He knew what was important in life...people and relationships are important. 
     The worst thing I can say about Mr. Mary was that he was the slowest driver on the planet! One day we were giving him a hard time for driving so slow and I said ... well I guess you don’t get many Speeding tickets do you? And he said, no I don’t Robert,  to my knowledge I have never sped. Lol
      He lived life to the fullest, he set the bar real high.  He was loved and respected by everyone. He will be missed. 

I was introduced to Paul and Rosemary when they came to a holiday facility in Troy NY(Diamond Ridge). When we first met we clicked off right away. Paul loved doing his jokes for the residents at lunch time and they loved him doing it. They definitely love there scrabble game . They would play at the table in the dining room during breakfast and lunch . It was so much fun too watch them with there joke comments to each other. They definitely was a great couple and I was so blessed to know them .

Daddy, you are the first man I ever loved and I truly can’t believe you’re really not here with us anymore.  I’m so grateful for every second I’ve ever had to share with you. For all the love you’ve given me and my own family. For showing me what truly matters, and that is family and friends and the time spent with them.  I’m in awe of how the last 3 months have unfolded into your healing and your peaceful passing - thank you Jesus!!  Daddy, thank you for being the vessel to bring our sister back.  I know it brings you peace that we’ll reconnect with her and make new memories together. I’m sure you’ll be watching and laughing with us when we do. We all promise to take care of Mom for you.  After 52 years of marriage, you both are a true testament of 2 becoming 1, and of unconditional, forever love.  I love you so very much, and I know you’ll always be with us.  ❤️ Love, Lee

Thank you for sharing your beautiful family with mine.  Mike and I always felt like one of your children. Joseph said you made him feel like one of the grandchildren. I loved talking about binge watching Netflix shows with you and Rosemary.  I remember the time Mike and I joined you and Rosemary to see Johnny Mathis. We had such a nice time.  We are blessed to have known you. The world was a better place with you in it. We will miss you. Much love, Terry.

I remember when we moved to Virginia from Pennsylvania... it was hard. I was eleven and had only known one town my whole life. But from the very first time we visited you guys.. I felt at home. For the first time in a long time.  It was  the thing you did, you put people at ease, you took them in, you made sure they ALWAYS had enough to eat,  you helped my dad get his first serious job since our move. That changed the course of our entire family. You made sure the people you cared about were taken care of. As an extension ..your family is just the same, warm , loving...and always there for each other.   
Always a twinkle in your eye.  You had a way of letting everyone in on the joke and you never minded being the brunt of one. Aside from my own dad , you were one of the best examples of a dad I had growing up. I’m so proud and thankful to have known you.   There’s a line from one of my favorite songs that I think you would’ve liked....
Always remember there was nothing worth sharing, like the love that let us share our name... that’s how you lived.  You treated everyone like family. Love. 

I am for once at a loss for words.  Being a selfish daughter I want you here, but being the woman I am today because of you I am at peace knowing Heaven has opened the gates for you and Jesus was their waiting for you with opened arms.  I will never forget our memories and will hold them closer to my heart ❤️ than I ever had before.  Thank you for being the daddy any little girl would have prayed for and the rock to our family. It has been many years but I remember Paul Mary as  being one Dedicated Die Hard Pittsburgh Sports Fan.  No matter if it was the Steelers, the Pirates, or the Penguins he loved them all.  He also was one that loved his family and everyone looked up to him.  Thoughts and Prayers go out to the family.   RIP Paul Mary

I have many very fun memories with my uncle Paul. One of favorite things was Christine the tractor. I loved riding on it with him. I will always hold a special place in my heart for you uncle Paul. Until we meet again

Paul you were one of the greatest father, brother, and friend I have ever known in my life. There isn’t a day that goes by that I do think of you. You are for surely missed and I love you 

Where do I start, dear Paul?  We definitely have enjoyed this beautiful brother/sister relationship to the fullest.  You have always been a man for me to look up to, you have always been my “go to” when I need a reality check and you have always and will always BE LOVED AND RESPECTED BY ME.  This week has been incredible with your beautiful wife, children, grandchildren and great granddaughter.  This vigil will remain in my heart until I see again. You have been tough on me, which at times, I did not understand, but I have always known you wanted to help me, make me think, and grow to be a better woman!  Our times together as we have aged have been remarkable as we continued to blend our families.  I promise that I WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR THEM.  I will forever love you and cherish your memory.. As difficult as it was to let you go, it was a tremendous blessing to be with you to send you off to heaven.  We would much rather have you here but are so happy you are finally at peace. Chicken Little and I (and the test of the Mary Mafia) will take care of Mom for you. 💜 

Growing up in Pittsburgh in the Kuss & Mary family, filled me with wonderful memories of being surrounded by kind, ethical, fun, and devoted grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.  My cousin Paul was one of them. It was having such a great loving family that made me and my family what we are today and I am so grateful to them all. Paul will always be remembered as being part of the beautiful people who make life worth living and the world a better place. Rest in peace Paul and enjoy the family  members who led the way to heaven.
