

FLOURNOY, Pearl "Louise" Cook "Granny," 84, of Sandston, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015. She had 25 years of service with Philip Morris and after retirement, in keeping with her lifestyle of helping others first, she worked as a nursing assistant at Imperial Plaza and then as a playground monitor at Washington Henry Elementary School. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee Cook and his wife, Joyce; son, John Clifton Flournoy and his wife, Shirley; and grandchildren, Russell Cliffton Flournoy and Megan Michele Fischer Trahan. She is survived by her brother, John Oscar Cook Jr. (Gypsy); children, Richard Wingfield Flournoy (and his deceased wife, Beverly Jean and girlfriend, Alice), Mitchell Wayne Flournoy, Harriett Louise Morgan (Garland), Margaret Ann Foster (Gary); and their half siblings, Wanda Gooding, Bubba Flournoy and Annette Borron; grandchildren, Rick Flournoy (Wendy), Tom Flournoy, Tim Flournoy, Stephen Flournoy, Ines Flournoy, Brandy Burnett (Joey), Max Flournoy (Chastain), Stacey Peck, Artie Noel (Valerie) and Drew Fischer (Ashley); and 19 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 8, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where services will be held on Monday, November 9, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
