Rebecca Ann Emory

She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin D. McMullen; her mother, Rachel M. McMullen (Wright); her beloved aunt, Rosa Schumaker (Wright); and other cherished family members.

She is survived by her son, Shane; her sisters, Alice and Sherry; her brother, Frank; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will deeply miss her.

Rebecca was a light in the lives of all who knew her. She had a gift for making people feel loved, seen, and cared for, often expressing that love through the simple but meaningful acts she cherished most like wreath making, cooking, decorating, and giving her time to others.

She dedicated over 36 years of service to the Virginia Department of Transportation, where she worked in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition. There, she built not only a career, but lasting friendships that meant so much to her.

Rebecca was also a devoted member of Renewal Church Varina. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found joy in serving others, volunteering, and participating in outreach ministry.

A service will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 6:30 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23231.

Rebecca’s love will continue to live on in the lives she touched and the family she cherished.
