RUDE, Richard E., of Sandston, Va., formerly of Portsmouth, Va., went to be with the angels in heaven on February 27, 2016, after a battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret T. Rude. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joann (Fitzgerald); his two sons, Richard Jr. (Ricky) and Bryan Keith (Robin); was “PaPa” to two grandchildren, Noah and Ashby; sister, Eleanor Coburn; half-brothers, Lee Rude and Musico Rude; and his beloved “four-legged” Shih Tzu, Buster. He was retired from Greyhound with 31 years of service. Visitation will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home Laburnum on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, from 4 to 8 p.m. He was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church, 5707 Elko Rd., Sandston, Va. 23150, where services will be held Thursday, March 3, 2016, at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Washington Memorial Park.
