Robert Gene “Pete” Oxley, Jr., 59, of Richmond passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017. He attended Lee Davis High School and Richmond Tech for HVAC systems. Pete was a master electrician and served in the U. S. Marine Corps as a diesel mechanic working on and test driving tanks. He loved racing, football and trips to the beach. He loved his job and took pride in anything and everything he did. Pete was preceded in death by a sister, Valerie Keener and is survived by five children, Joseph Oxley, Robert Oxley, Bradley Oxley, Megan Oxley and Kyle Oxley; six grandchildren, Cole Oxley, Hanna Oxley, Ella Bowery, Brantley Oxley, Madeline Oxley and Jeremiah “Bullfrog” Oxley; father, Robert Oxley, Sr. and mother, Carol Draper; and sister, Carolyn Canupp. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 7 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231. The family would like to thank Hospice of Virginia for all of their help. They made things a little bit easier. So, thank you to Alexis and Ann.
