Robert Edwin Grosz, Sr.
June 24, 1935 – January 19, 2022

Robert E. “Bob” Grosz Sr., 86, of Sandston, Va., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond.
Mr. Grosz was a 1952 graduate of Highland Springs High School. Following graduation, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy, in the 46th Company. He later retired from CSX Transportation after 41 years.
He was an avid musician and an active member of the Conclave of Richmond Pipe Smokers (CORPS).
Mr. Grosz was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Moore Grosz; father, Harry Robert Grosz; and little brother, Bill Grosz (Darlene).
He is survived by his children, Robert Grosz Jr. (Shirley Beavers) of Highland Springs, Teresa Grosz and Lisa Craven of Chesterfield, Brian Brewer of Bumpass, and Allen Brewer of Henrico.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Erin Grosz, Andrew Dalton, Renee Dalton, Amanda Craven Summerlin (Russell), Nicholas Craven, Adrienne Tweedy (Daniel), Cole Brewer, Susan Beavers (Jason Lee); five great-grandchildren, Campbell Easter, Carson Easter, Aria Fournier, Josie Tweedy, Creed Summerlin; and numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to Colonial Williamsburg Foundation. Bob was a devoted supporter of Williamsburg and enjoyed his weekly visits with Brother Bill.
