Robert Lee Parsley
March 16, 1932 – March 2, 2018
PARSLEY, Robert Lee, of Sandston, Va., passed away March 2, 2018, after several years of declining health. He was born and raised in New Kent County, and lived at Bottoms Bridge in Henrico County for the past 62 years. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie L. Parsley and Annie M. Parsley; sister, Bessie Lee Simpson; and brother, Charlie L. Parsley. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean War. Robert retired from Verizon, formerly C&P Telephone Co. of Virginia, after 43 years of dedicated service. He was a lifetime member of Telephone Pioneers of America. He will always be remembered as a quiet, kind and gentle man, devoted to his family, and a dedicated worker with a willingness to always help others. Robert is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Martha Rasmussen Parsley; a daughter, Robin Marie Jenkins and her husband, Robert Clarke Jenkins; two treasured grandsons, Robert Brandon Jenkins and his wife, Gretchen and Nathan Clarke Jenkins; and two great-grandsons, Bentley Logan Jenkins and Barrett Alexander Jenkins; and three sisters. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 8, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. Services will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Henrico Volunteer Rescue Squad, or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be made at nelsenrichmond.com.

The family would like to inform everyone that the viewing will continue as scheduled, but the funeral will be postponed until further notice. There will be no services held tomorrow Friday, the 9th.

SO THANKFUL THAT WE HAD SOME GOOD TIMES VISITING WITH ROBERT AND MARTHA IN THERE HOME SO MANY TIMES AND I KNOW ROBERT IS NOW UNITED WITH ALL HIS LOVED ONES AND JOHNNY IN HEAVEN AND PRAYING FOR MARTHA AND THE FAMILY .
