He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira F. and Gladys S. Burnett; brother, Garland E. Burnett; wife, Elizabeth H. Burnett; and his niece, Diane B. Christian.
Roland served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War and worked for Nolde Bakery. He was a faithful member of Varina Episcopal Church, he loved his church family and Rev. Whitney. Roland was a history buff who enjoyed researching genealogy and ancestry. He was a member of the VFW, Mechanicsville Chapter.
Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Virginia B. Beasley (George Jr.); nephew, George Beasley III (Dawn); and several great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his friends, Linda and Tom Marlow and his many other friends and family.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Varina Episcopal Church, 2385 Mill Rd., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Washington Memorial Park.
