

He was preceded in death by his father, Nathaniel Handy; mother, Betty Lane, brothers, Harold, Ernest, Douglas, Edward; and sisters, Pricilla, Barbara, Pamela.
Ronald grew up in Philadelphia, PA and was a graduate of Overbrook High School. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Air Force, then entered into a career with the United States Postal Service as a mail handler for 30 years before retiring.
Ronald was a fun loving man with a charming smile. He had a heart of gold and loved giving life lessons. In his spare time, Ronald enjoyed fishing and dancing. Ronald was always the life of the party and always ensured that others were having a great time. Above all else, Ronald loved being a father and grandfather. He never missed an opportunity to spoil those he loved – especially his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Ronald, TiaJuana, Remous; their mother, Velda Jackson; grandchildren, Shihee, Jaquez, Takiy, Kaheem, Shian, Kalen, Shiah, Kaylee; great-grandchildren, Shihee, Syfir, Santana, Sykhi; siblings, Allen, Earl, Timothy, Sheila, Estella, Trena, Starlett; girlfriend, Jeanette; and good friend, Carl.
A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231.
