ROCK, Ronald Lee, 68, of Varina, passed away on January 29, 16. He served in the Army Airborne Division during the Vietnam War, and was also a Millwright at Dupont for 36 years. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He loved fishing, and was a member of the Blueridge Bass Club. He also built and restored antique vehicles, and was a member of the Model A Club. Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Clay Farries; and his adoptive parents Mr. and Mrs. Floyd McKinley Rock. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Betty F. Rock; his daughter Robin M. Rock; his siblings, Diane Waters of Belhaven, NC, Joyce Farries of Washington, NC, and Gerald Farries of Bath, NC; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Visitation will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home Laburnum on Thursday February 4, 2016 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Services will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home Laburnum on Friday February 5, 2016 at 2 pm with interment to follow at Washington Memorial Park.
