Ronald Maurice Spedden, 60, of Richmond, passed away on September 8, 2017. He was a retired teacher for Colonial Heights High School and a retired CHHS soccer coach. He graduated from UVA in 1979 with a B.A. in History, and received his Master’s in Education in 1981. He was a UVA ticket holder for 30 years, loved to BBQ, enjoyed music and talking about music, loved to debate on political subjects, was an avid reader with a brilliant mind and loved his son with all of his heart. Ronald is survived by his wife, Angela Spedden of Richmond, Va.; son, Zachary Spedden of Richmond, Va.; siblings, Mary (Missy) Darling and husband, Ernie of Sudlersville, Md. and Gary Spedden and wife, Suzie of Virginia Beach, Va.; and parents, Maurice and Arlene Spedden of Chester, Md. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Richmond. Memorial services will be private.
