Booker, Sanford Rae Sr., “Ray”, 85, of Sandston, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 16, 2013. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Sylvia Walker Booker; devoted sister, Jean Wiltshire; and siblings, Charles and Ardelle. Ray is survived by his son, Sanford Booker Jr. (Mollie); Granddaughter, Madison; devoted brother-in-law Stewart Walker (Sharon); and niece Emily. Mr. Booker served 10 years in the United States Navy and was the owner of Booker’s Sunoco and Citgo. He was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church of Sandston, where he served as a Deacon. The family will receive friends on Monday August 19, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave. Richmond, VA 23231. A Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
