Sharon B. Moen

Sharon B. Moen, 69, of Highland Springs, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. She retired from Philip Morris after 33 years of dedicated service. Sharon was an avid lover of animals, especially Cocker Spaniels and birds. She also had a passion for gardening, both plants and vegetables. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Josephine Weinberg. Left to cherish her memory are her partner, Scott Moen; children, Ronald Swerkes (Mary), Jennifer Smith, Karli Sharp-Brown (Tim); grandchildren, Samantha, Michael, Matthew, Emilee, Madison; great-grandson, Gianni; and cousin, Sandy Deitz (Calvin). The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 29, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Richmond SPCA or an animal rescue of your choice.
