Shawn Robert Maxey, Sr., 37, of Sandston, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017. He was a member of Hardy Central Baptist Church. Shawn was preceded in death by his father, John Robert Maxey Jr. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, CJ Maxey; children, Faith, Bobby and Luke; mother, Catherine Stone Maxey; sister, Heather Maxey Redford; brothers-in-law, Robert Redford and Richard Holtman; niece, Hope; nephews, John and Tyler; aunts, Betty Harris, Joyce Meador (Arthur) and Linda Diane Oley (Mike); uncles, John Stone (Gail) and Jimmy Maxey (Betty); as well as numerous extended family members and friends. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 24. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
