Sylvia Courtney Hopkins

She was a former office manager for Hopewell Medical Center and was a member of Life Church. Sylvia was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach and the mountains. She loved the Lord and being with her family, especially her two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon E. and Dorothy W. Courtney and mother-in-law, Nancy Hopkins.

She is survived by her husband, Tommy Hopkins; daughter, Tracy Crown and husband, Kevin; grandchildren, Addison and Blake Crown; sister, Wanda West and family, Bobby, Courtney, Trey and Gwen; father-in-law, Thomas Clinton Hopkins; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Life Church, 16801 Harrowgate Road, Colonial Heights, VA 23834, where a service will be held Wednesday, July 9, at 12 noon.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, VA.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Give Hope 2 Kids.
