Terrell “Ray” Traylor, 74, of Providence Forge passed away Saturday, March 14, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, O. T. and Hazel Traylor. He was a U. S. Marine Corps veteran and worked in home improvement sales for over 40 years. Ray truly loved his boys and they meant the world to him. He loved being with family and friends at the race track and vacations in Cancun. He was very well known and loved in the New Kent area. There was a special place in his heart for his companion, an Appalachian Bigfoot Bassett Hound, Zachery, who he called “Zack”. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon; four sons, Timothy, Todd (Angie), Tommy (Vicky) and Chad (Amanda); grandchildren, Kelli Robertson (Richard), Daniel “Bubba” (Amber) and Michael; two great-grandchildren, Todd and Mason Ty; brother, Richard B. O’Connell (Judy); and nieces, Patty, Sherri and Linda. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231; where services will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park, Sandston.
